Portendo develops stand-off detection products primarily to enable explosives detection
at long distance. The technology is perfectly suited for force protection and road
clearance but also in fixed locations, such as perimeter protection.
Portendo has initiated a cooperation with BAE Systems Bofors in Sweden to integrate Portendo's P.Eye Explosives Detection Equipment in BAE
Systems' gyro-stabilized vehicle-mounted platforms.
Force Protection
One of the most significant threats to military troops in hostile environments are
IEDs (Improvised Explosives Device) and other CBE (chemical, biological and explosives)
threats. It is today very difficult to detect and identify IEDs at a safe distance.
For advancing troops, the IED threat heavily limits speed and safety, a problem
that Portendo’s P.Eye products addresses.

Perimeter Protection
In order to secure certain areas from terror threats, detection equipment has to
be integrated in security checkpoints. Portendo’s technologies allow detection of
explosives residue at several typical spots of a passing vehicle. The simple operation,
low cost and speed of measurement allow examination of a large number of vehicles
and therefore provides a far better security level than technologies used today.
