Portendo's CheckPort Concept
The ultimate goal of Portendos CheckPort concept is to protect high-security sites with a clear and present risk of terror attacks or criminal acts involving explosives. The CheckPort creates a similar throughput as an ordinary vehicle checkpoint, but comes with the benefit of substantially increasing security while creating an automated process with minimized risk of human errors. The CheckPort concept is operated remotely, and thus helps keeping personnel out of harms way from threatening objects. The core component in Portendo’s CheckPort is the P.Eye-S™, the first product for detection of explosives at a safe distance (standoff detection).
The CheckPort can help protect and increase security at critical facilities, important infrastructure and vehicle checkpoints. The increased security of the CheckPort can help prevent attacks from suicide bombers and vehicle- borne IED’s. Depending on the security levels and operational conduct required in each case, the checkpoint can either check every vehicle or select certain vehicles to check.
The CheckPort consists of a complete package to enable state-of-the-art explosives detection technology to a vehicle checkpoint. It includes typically 2 P.Eye-S sensors, pan- & tilt-heads, power supply and an operator’s workstation. The package also includes software and a training package for operators and security personnel.
The P.Eye-S is designed to suit both stationary and mobile checkpoints. One P.Eye-sensor is easily transported by two people and quickly set-up and deployed in a mobile expeditionary checkpoint.
